Recupel saves time with smart and efficient processes thanks to far-reaching digitalization

Recupel set up a future-proof declaration system for the processing of disused electrical devises and lamps. Joining several front & back-end applications, while respecting existing business processes, ensures optimal cooperation and saves time for Recupel staff. New technologies, as well as the expansion of existing functionalities, ensure optimal digital communication between Recupel and the customer. Digital transformation. A hot and trending topic. But what is digital transformation and what does it mean for Recupel?

Recupel organizes the collection and processing of unused electrical appliances and lamps. Anyone selling a electr(on)ical appliance on the Belgian market is legally required to take care of the collection and processing of unused appliances. Recupel, in cooperation with LoQutus, set up a new declaration system to comply with this requirement. The platform allows importers and producers of electrical appliances to declare their products to Recupel. The declared quantities will be used to calculate their mandatory contribution to the recycling process.

On 01 October 2016 the project was launched and that is when importers and producers could start using the new platform. The old system urgently required a digital renovation. New technologies and the expansion of existing functionalities made the platform future-proof. The new system also supports the digital communication between Recupel and the customer. No more unnecessary paperwork because the entire flow – from registration to declarations and invoicing – is now digitalized. And that is no excessive luxury with thousands of declarations to handle each year.

In addition, the new platform also ensures that Recupel staff no longer have to master several applications. Everything is integrated into one application, which saves time, while making things simpler and more efficient!

The digitalization process obviously brings changes. UX design allowed for the optimization of customer experience and lowering the threshold of the new system. Intuitive navigation, uniform layout and simple construction are some of the many elements that contribute to a pleasant interaction between the declaration system and the customer. Not only customers, but also Recupel staff, take advantage of an integrated system to help them fulfil their daily tasks.

LoQutus assisted Recupel throughout the process: from coming up with a digital strategy to implementing the new system. The project was also achieved on time and on budget.
